AURORA GARAGE SPRING CONVERSIONS BY VILLAGarage Door Torsion and Extension Springs Conversions
Extension springs have become way less desirable than torsion springs. The reason for this is torsion springs are much less loud. Conversion is possible but can be dangerous. First we take off all the old parts to start. The spring is loaded when the door is closed. We then open the door to release tension off the spring. When lock position is engaged main parts are needed to continue. These parts include shafts and spring brackets. Remove weight off the door to start working on the conversion. To determine spring type we must know the height, width, weight of the garage door. New cables are always good to replace while removing springs while you we are in there already. Drums are necessary for the cables next. Bearing plates and then spring bearings installation and then we round it out to end conversion. |
